Memorial Day Weekend

So, this weekend was SOO fun! We have been planning a backpacking trip up Bells's Canyon for several weeks now. We were getting a little worried that our plans would be foiled due to bad weather, but we decided to go with or without the rain! So, we packed our bags, and headed up the canyon after work Friday early evening. The hike was BEAUTIFUL and the hike itself wasn't too bad. Kenneth was nice enough to give me the lighter pack - about 30 lbs. while he carried the heavier pack with all our rock-climbing gear - about 50 lbs. The hike, as I said was incredible. I felt like I was back in California! There were beautiful granite boulders, green trees, and rivers. It started raining pretty hard for 10 minutes or so, but we pushed through it, and thank goodness we did! As soon as the rain let us, the skies opened and it was so clear and blue! It was amazing!

We finally reached our destination point and set up camp. The night was a little uncomfortable for me because I kept trying to snuggle with Kenny, but we were on a slight decline...and I kept rolling away from him! I was not very happy about that! On Saturday morning we were going to do a climb up there, but it was REALLY windy, so we decided to hike back down and go rockclimbing in Little Cottonwood (one canyon to the north) which is not nearly as high, and therefore not as cold. It was an amzing time, but boy were my calves sore! They've never been so sore in my life!

On Sunday we went to the Noyce's house for Kenneth's birthday dinner. It was delicious! We spent the night that night and helped out with his parent's house...his mom has been sick for about 4 months and she was finally given a proper diagnosis last week. She has been diagnosed with Addison's disease (her adrenal gland, which produces hormones is not working) and is looking forward to gaining some weight and much needed strength. Anyway, that was our weekend! It was amazing!

Today my Kenny-Boy is turning 25! Whoo hoo! I wanted to take a minute to express my appreciation and gratitude for him. I love him more than anything else in this world. I absolutely love being with him, and sharing our lives together, and cannot wait for all the fun things we have planned to do together. There is no one else I would rather spend eternity with. I love you Kenny - the mostest, I call no battles! :)

The Fabulous Weekend!

So, I had SOO much fun this past weekend! On Friday, Kenneth and I went to the temple after work, and then came home and watched the movie "Honey."

On Saturday we work up, and prepped for rock-climbing! We took Kenneth's brother Steven, and his friend Britney, and his sister Chantale with her friend Jordan. We went climbing up American Fork Canyon. It was a beautiful day, and even though it wsa hot, we went climbing in a nicely shaded area so it was perfect! Steven and Britney climbed one climb and then had to leave for an orchestra performance, but Chantale and Jordan stuck around and we did a second climb and then Kenneth did a harder climb by himself. It was so nice to be able to get out and do something in nature. Kenneth and I have been wanting to get out of hte house SO much now that it is nice. We planned out our entire summer...literally. We have planned several camping, hiking and rock climbing trips to keep us occupied this summer. Anyway, after rock climbing on Saturday we hung out at Kenneth's parent's place where I got to play nurse for his mom as I learned how to use the IV. Eventually we went home so that we could plan our lessons for Sunda. I taught Sharing Time for Primary (kids 4-11) and Kenneth taught in Young Mens (boys 12-17).

On Sunday we went to church and gave our lessons, which went really well. After church we both had meetings and then went home and just relaxed. We turned on some instrumental music, and just read books, or the conference issue of the Ensign. It was wonderful. That evening we went over to my brother's house and played games and ate ice cream/banana bread and brownies with him and his wife Kim. It was way fun. Kim had to leave duirng part of it to go to a canoe planning meeting with her friends so we stuck around with Michael for awhile and headed out around 9. He was complaining because we were leaving him along...poor Michael!

Anyway, we had to leave Michael's so early because we are trying to go to bed at 10 pm again so that we can wake up at 6 and go running before work (since here in UT it skips from winter straight to summer). It was hard going to bed earlier since we're not used to it, so we ended up getting up at 6:30 and went running a couple of miles. It felt great! Hopefully we can keep it up!

Well, that was REALLY long so I won't bore anyone anymore. Have a great day everyone!

Understanding

So, I've been kind of sad lately. Life is SOO crazy, and it makes me sad when things don't work out the way I feel they should. I'm trying to be understanding and patient, but that can be really hard for me sometimes. The old R&B song, "Understanding" by Xcape comes to mind. The first verse really hits home for me:

Chorus:
What I need from you is understanding
How can we communicate
If you don't hear what I say.
What I need from you is understanding,
So simple as 1-2-3,
Understanding is what we need.

[Verse One]
You don't really know me,
You just wanna do what you wanna do.
That's not the way it should be,
No, you should listen to me boy.
I try so very hard to make you understand,
But the choices you make,
baby they're all demands.

I have a really hard time when people don't understand the way I am feeling...it brings up all kinds of trust issues from when I was little. I guess I need to do some extra praying to be better. Anyway, I just want to say that I am SOO grateful for Kenneth. I love him more than anything else in the world. Anyway, send some loving prayers my way if you've got extra to spare.

3-Form

So, I've had a couple of people ask about my job so I have included some pictures and will explain now! I work for the company 3-form and we make customer resin panels with really awesome interlayers, such as colors, fabrics, graphic images, pictures, organic material and we can also make them with different textures. I started working there as a receptionist last summer when Kenneth and I came home from Alaska. After giving lots of valuable feedback to my boss, they decided to open up a customer service team. Now, this isn't just one of those lame customer service teams...we're talking large amounts of info on pricing, product info, colors, ordering, fabrication, hardware, etc, etc. There are literally millions of products with all the ways you can mix and match our product. Pretty cool stuff! Anyway, the customer service team started back in like January/Febuary, and I've been training the new employees with that. Now, I am trying to break through with a management position. The current manager was actually a manager over our project managers, and has been helping out with the customer service team until we got someone else to take that position. I interviewed last Thursday and they still have not made a decision. I would love to get the job, but I was up against 2 others who are WAY more experienced that I am...so we'll see. Anyway, it is a really fun job, and we make some AMAZING products (as seen above...and that doesn't even include our fun glass products!). Anyway, that's about it as far as the job. It is a really fun place to work...the company is all about being "Green" so we have monthly luncheons with speakers promoting green living, and we also have Happy Hour every Friday (just food and normal drinks) to kick off the weekend, and all sorts of other fun things like raffles for carpooling and whatnot. Anyway, a great place to be overall. I'm planning on sticking around here until we decide to start a family. So that's 3-form! If anyone is bored enough and wants to see our other stuff, check out the website, www.3-form.com, click on materials and then varia. That is the line that has most of our products, then there are others under glass, chroma, alabster, etc. Have fun!

Fabulous Weekend!

SO - this weekend was SO great! On Friday Kenneth and I just kind of hung out doing whatever, and on Saturday we went shopping for his mom's birthday and for his dad's graduation (he graduated with his masters! Whoo hoo!). Then we went down to Provo to go rockclimbing with his sister, Chantale and her boyfriend Stephen. We went up rock canyon in Provo and climbed this amazing crack climb (yes, Kenneth is trying to get me "addicted to crack"). It was way fun because you have to climb up like 100 ft. before you even start climbing the 100ft climb itself. Once you were at the top, it was amazing to look out and see the entire valley below and to see UT lake...GORGEOUS!

After rock climbing we went to Cousin James' wedding reception! Good ol' Cousin James! I love that kid! He married his amazing girl, Monica, and I could not be happier for them! It was hilarious when they cut the cake...Monica smashed it in his face and took off running! Cousin James counted to 3 on his fingers and took off after her! It was hilarious!

We spent the night at Kenneth's parent's place to help us save on gas money, and on Sunday we went back to Provo to attend the baby blessing for our friends Danny & Heather. They have a beautiful little girl, Brooke McKinley who is about 5 weeks old. She looked DARLING and everyone was oh-so-happy to be there for the event. It was fun because while we were at church we sat with our other friends, Kendell and Melissa with their 3 children. I help the neworn (also 5 weeks) while they took care of the other 2. Babies are so cute! I think Kenneth is getting better about the idea...YES!

Anyway, after the Baby Blessing we went to the Kimball's house (Danny's parents who live behind Kenneth's parent's place in Highland) and had some munchies. Afterwards we went back to the in-laws house for UT Mom's birthday party! (I ate a TON this weekend...ugh!) It was so fun having the whole family together, we all just sat around, ate food, opened gifts, and I watched "The Nativity Story" with UT Mom - some may say it is a Christmas movie, but I personally love watching movies about the Savior's birth all year long! It was great. The busy weekend came to a close all too soon, and we went home getting to bed a little later than normal. I woke up today feeling exhausted, so LUCKILY work was good today! Anyway, that's it! Another wonderful weekend comes to a close, and my countdown for next weekend begins!
