Breech Baby No More!

So, I've been a little nervous since my last Dr.'s appt 2 weeks ago because I was told that Baby Danny was breech. I was pretty sure that he had been breech most of the time too. Everyone kept telling me that I shouldn't worry - that there was plenty of time for him to turn. Nonetheless, however, I letself get worked up about it - not too bad considering I've been pretty mellow throughout the whole pregnancy! Anyway, I was concerned because I really don't want a c-section. Kenneth kept telling me that if I ended up having the c-section it would be for a reason, and that I just need to trust the Lord, especially in these situations. I was grateful for his words of wisdom and was starting to get used to the idea of possibly having a c-section.

Anyway, today I had my appt. and baby Danny has turned! I was very excited! I hope he stays that way! My widwife thinks he will - usually at this point the head it so heavy compared to the rest of the body that they have a hard time flipping around. So, that is my good news! I love having ultrasounds at this point and actually being able to see Danny's face and little features. He's a cutie! I hope the next month and a half go by quickly!

Alisha's Getting Married!

So, I've been a slacker - for many reasons...I'm lazy, been getting projects done around the house and most recently, planning a wedding!! My sister Alisha is getting married TODAY to her main man - Sai (pronounced like "sigh"). He is from Fiji and is serving in the British Army. Unfortunately he has to leave back to Europe for the military on Wednesday and they wanted to get married before he leaves. So, there will be a small wedding ceremony today at my Uncle Harold Ethington's house in Salt Lake City. We are all excited and want to welcome Sai into our family!! I must say it has been great fun having my papa, Jayne and grandma staying at our house! I'm also very happy that my mom and brother Tytus are here in town as well! I'll post pictures of the bride and groom in a few days!

Happy Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day to all you fathers yesterday!!! I woke up and wished Kenny a Happy Father's Day - but he still thinks he isn't a dad yet - YOU ARE! Haha! Such a funny guy.

Anyway, I wanted to say Happy Father's Day to my Papa. Thanks for being a wonderful Pa A and for always teaching me correct principles and for continuing to love me all those years in high school when I was a brat! ;) Thanks for always being involved in my life and for helping out with projects and whatnot. I always love when you come out to visit and hope that I can see you soon!!

Also wanted to say Happy Father's Day to Kenneth's dad, Shaun. Thanks for raising such a fine young man. Thanks for always teaching and counseling Kenneth and helping him learn how to make correct choices in his life. I see so many of Kenneth's good qualities in you and know that he learned them from your example throughout his life (even though he may have never admitted it until now!)

Kenny - you're up! Thanks for being such a wonderful soon-to-be father! Even though you like to pretend that you're not as excited as you are for our baby I KNOW YOU ARE STOKED!! Thanks for always taking care of me, and listening to me talk NON-STOP about the baby and baby preparations. Thank you for all the sacrifices you are currently making and will make in the future to provide for our family and to help me do the things I need to do. Can't wait to see you cuddling our little baby boy!

We had a wonderful suprise yesterday. My dad is in California, and Kenneth's dad is currently on a cruise, so we didn't have any Father's Day plans set up. Our friends Scott & Martha, however, remedied that! Martha had a baby girl - Penny Mae yesterday! Congrats Scott & Martha! We were able to go down to Provo to see them and the baby and everyone is doing great (although a little tired!). Afterwards we were able to spend some time with our friends Danny & Heather to celebrate Danny
s birthday. It was a wonderful Father's Day! Happy Father's Day to all you current, soon-to-be and future dads!!

Projects, Projects, Projects!

So, we have only TWO months before Baby Danny arrives and I am starting to realize just how many projects we still have left to complete! I hope we can get them all done!

Our house has 2 bedrooms, and our 2nd bedroom is currently being used as a storage room. Now that we have a baby on the way, we are attempting to transform it into a nursery. The problem is...we have no place to put all our stuff. So, to remedy this, Kenneth has been building a shed in our backyard for all of our stuff. Unfortunately, here in UT it has been raining almost EVERY day for the last 2 weeks! This has delayed the shed considerably. On Saturday we thought we were going to have nice weather, but we woke up to rain, so we decided we had better start on some indoor projects.

SO, starting on our inside projects, we decided to paint our bedroom. It was this nasty brownish/yellowish cream color and just had to go! We decided we wanted a nice clean white color. So painting away we went! We also replaced all the outlets and light switches to white (instead of the gross tan from the 70s). We are also replacing the bedroom and closet doors. We finished all the painting and have been organizing our things as we've moved them back in.

2nd project for the weekend - re-organizing our kitchen. We currently have most of our food in the spare bedroom on food storage shelves Kenneth built. When we move things to the shed, however, the food storage will be housed on smaller shelves. So, we spent a part of the day re-arranging things in the kitchen so we can fit more food in the shelves, and also so I can have a shelf for bottles/feeding supplies for the baby.

All in all, it was a very productive weekend. Hopefully Kenneth will get 2 days of sunshine in a row so we can finally finish the shed! Otherwise, our baby may just be sleeping in a dresser drawer!

Weekend of Fun!

So, quick re-cap of things going on in our lives...

Kenneth's New Job
Kenneth started his new job this last week. He is currently an engineering intern at ATK - where they make airplane parts and rocket propulsion systems. Kenneth will be working on designing and making the machines that make the carbon composites used. Yeah, I don't really know what that means either. Anyway, it is a great opportunity for him, and the pay is MUCH better, which is always a plus. He really enjoyed his time at Easton and is sad to no longer shoot bows and arrows, but is excited for this new adventure. The main downside is that the job is in Clearfield, and he has to catch the 6:25am Front Runner train to get up there...which means our bedtime has changed to 9:00 pm now! Insane! I feel old. That's okay though. Anyway, this intern is kind of up in the air as far as length. It may end in August, but he may continue working through the school year. Lets all hope and pray that option 2 is a go! That would be incredible for us.

Bee's Game
On Thursday, June 4th Kenneth and I were able to attend the Bees vs Rivercats baseball game. I got free tickets from my work, and it was pretty awesome seeing my old home team (Sacramento Rivercats). The game was fun, but majorly pathetic. By the 3rd inning, the Rivercats were up like 9-2. It was insane! Kenneth and I did enjoy a fabulous baseball game hotdog with all the trimmings - cheese, grilled onions, red & green peppers, and pickles. It was amazing!

Rodeo Awesomeness!
On Friday, June 5th, I headed out to Grantsville to visit my old roommate, Heidz. We had tickets to the Rodeo and it was SO much fun! I have never been to a rodeo before, but have always wanted to. Thanks for taking me Heidz!! The did a portion where these little kids rode (sp?) on sheep!! It was SO adorable!! The bull riding was pretty fabulous, and so were all the events where they had to tie up the steer. I don't know names of any of the events, so I'll have to get the pictures up soon.

Wedding Wonderfulness!
On Saturday, June 6th I was able to attend the reception of my dear friend Ashley who married her sweetheart Matt after a 2 year engagement!! Go Ashley! She look absolutely stunning and I could not be more happy for her!

Dinner Group EXCELLENCE
HOLY COW! I am an idiot...I am completely forgetful now that I'm pregnany. One Sunday, June 7th we had our wonderful dinner group. One of the families - Kendall & Melissa (+ 3 little ones) moved out to Illinois over a year ago, and were in town, so we set up a special dinner group. It was SO great! We had everyone there - 5 couples total + 6 kids + 3 on the way. It was so awesome! Good food, good conversation, good fun playing Catch Phrase and fun pictures. Gotta love it!

Well, those are my lovely updates. Oh, one last one...I finally bought a carseat and stroller! The one I really wanted is no longer available (BLAST!) but I found a cute alternative:

Couldn't find the picture which showed the stoller as well, but you get the point. Thank you Kenneth for putting it together for me! One more thing crossed off of the "finish before baby comes" list!

Women! Please step forward!

Alright...so, I am having issues with my HAIR! I hate my hair - seriously, with a passion. I need some advice, so ladies (and willing gentlemen...I don't think there are many of you out there) please step forward!

Now, just as a reminder for those of you who haven't seen me in awhile, my hair is:
- brown
- very thin
- a weird mix between curly and wavy
- gets frizzy very easily
- has NO body whatsoever
- needs to be something easy to do, otherwise I just won't do it (hence the constant pony-tail...UGLY!)
- other note to consider - I have a big forehead and have gone back and forth between side-swooping bangs (short and long).

SO - now that you're equipped with that knowledge...WHAT SHOULD I DO?!? I wanted to grow my hair out long because I see all these women with GORGEOUS long hair, and I want it...but I still don't ever do anything with it, and it takes like a year to grow 3 inches (no lie). Plus, the summer is coming up, and I'm having a baby, so many having long hair isn't the best option...

So, help me consider the following:

Options:

HAIR LENGTH
1) short (right at shoulders)
2) medium length (about 2 inches past shoulders)
3) long

HAIR STYLE
1) cut straight across
2) long layers
3) short layers

BANGS
1) full bangs
2) short side swooping bangs (hit the brow level)
3) long side swooping bangs (that can be pulled back)
4) no bangs at all

PLEASE respond and give me your opinion on these issues. I have a friend who has absolutely GORGEOUS hair, and I want my hair to look exactly like theirs, but alas...our hair is so different. So I hesitate to just take a photo into the salon and say, "make me look like her" because I know it won't work. So PLEASE give me your opinions!! I don't want ugly hair anymore!

Also, if anyone knows of any killer hair products that won't kill my budget, please let me know! What can you not live without?

Lack of Posts

So...I haven't posted anything recently because my brother keeps asking to see an updated pregnancy photo...and I don't have one yet!! Check back tomorrow!!
