Bear Lake

We're headed off to Bear Lake in northern Utah. Kenneth will be coming home on Sunday, but Danny and I are hanging out until next Friday. I'll post pictures and updates when I get back!

Danny's Stats & Weekend Wedding

Whoops! I forgot to put up Danny's stats. He had an appointment last Friday, and had the followings stats:

Weight - 9lbs 2 oz.
Height - 21.5 in

He is now in the 2nd percentile for both weight and height. I can't remember what his head circumference was, but he is in the 3rd percentile for that. The doctor was VERY surprised at how much he grew since the last appointment - almost 2 lbs!

At that same appointment Danny had to have 4 immunizations. One was oral, and 3 were administered in his legs. Poor Danny cried his head off! It was the first time I've seen actual tears from my little guy! It was so sad! He slept a lot afterward, and once it was night-time he was in a lot of pain and was screaming non-stop. So, we gave him some Infant Tylenol and I had to hold him until he fell asleep. That night he slept 14 hours with only 1 feeding! It was crazy!

On another note, we were able to attend a wedding on Saturday for Kenneth's cousin Spencer. It was a beautiful reception (I had to stay with Danny outside of the temple, but Kenneth was able to attend the sealing). Kenneth took his hand at taking some photos again to help build up his blog. Here are a few of my favorites thus far.

First and foremost, here is a picture with me, Danny and Stephanie. I was holding Danny while we were posing for a group picture at the wedding, and I looked down, and this is what I saw. Danny had taken hold of Stephanie's arm and was leaning against her. TOO CUTE! I asked Kenneth to get a quick shot in between our photos. I love it!

Bell's Canyon

Yesterday we went hiking with my sister Alisha up Bell's Canyon here in Salt Lake Valley. It was tons of fun, and it was BEAUTIFUL!! The leaves are starting to change colors in the canyon, and it is absolutely gorgeous! I almost forgot how much I love fall!

Good news - Danny FINALLY fits into his carrier!! The top of his head used to be able 5-6 in below the top flap, and now you can see his head poking out!! I can't believe how much he has grown! In fact, he has a doctor's appointment in just about 30 minutes, so I'll post his stats when I get back! For now, here are some photos from the hike!

Danny's Baby Blessing

Kenneth and I were able to spend a ton of time with family this Labor Day weekend. My mom was able to come out due to the holiday, and she really wanted to be here for Danny's blessing...so, we made a quick decision and got everything set up. I was so happy because lots of family members were able to be there even though it was last minute. Of my family members, the following were able to come: my Pa & Jayne, my mom and Ron, Nathan, Tytus, Alisha, Michael & Kim. Of Kenneth's family: Grandma Bardsley, UT Mom & UT Dad, Rachelle (w/ Aidan and Matty), Stephanie & Justin, and Steven & Britney. Our friends Danny & Heather, Mark & Debbie and Scott & Martha were also able to come.

Kenneth gave a beautiful blessing and afterwards we went to Michael and Kim's place for a little BBQ. It was fabulous! Here are some pictures!

Climbing in Big Cottonwood

So, this past weekend we went rockclimbing with Michael & Kim (and Analee who opted to watch from below). It was so fun! I love climbing! Danny came along and was great! He slept for most of the time, and Michael was nice enough to feed him his bottle while I was doing a climb. Good times!

Family Snapshots

Here are some random pictures of our little family while we were hanging out with Michael and Kim. Enjoy!

Here is Danny in the grass. He actually didn't mind...

Until we turned him over! He almost turned himself over completely!

Boys will be boys!

And here is Kim with her awesome hair...couldn't forget that picture!!

School, Doctors and the Outdoors

Well, it's that time again...school is in session! Kenneth is starting his LAST year before he graduates with his BS in Mechanical Engineering. It is pretty ridiculous...after talking with his counselor he determined that he only needs to take 2 classes this semester and 1 class next semester. He is going to take an additional class this semester that will count towards his masters degree (he can take up to 6 grad level classes before he has graduated with his undergrad). I am SOO happy with how his schedule is working out because he will work T & Th only, and then he has school MWF until 11:30. Then the rest of the day he will be at home and can take care of Danny while I am working from home. LOVELY! I was really worried about how I would be able to get all my hours in at work...but this arrangement will help out so much!

As for Kenneth's work, it looks like he WILL be able to work full time with ATK as soon as he graduates!! The only problem is that as an intern (which he currently is) he can only work a total of 1000 hours before they would have to hire him on full time. He can't be hired full time until he has graduated, and because of how much he worked during the summer, he can only work 16 hours a week until his graduation in May. Thank goodness I'll still be working then! This whole situation will also be nice though because Kenneth would like to start doing photography professionally, and so, he will have a LOT more time to do that! We're excited!

As for an update on Danny, we went to the doctors yesterday and Danny (who is now 7 1/2 weeks old) is now up to 7lb 4oz! He is getting so big!! He is also 20.5 inches long. He is starting to outgrow some of his clothes! The only thing the doctor is still watching is his iron level. It is still a little low - nothing to worry about, but just watching. The doctor said that sometimes it takes 4-5 months for the iron level to regulate, so we'll just keep watching and see what it does.

Anyway, Danny is such a stinkin' cute little kid!! He is doing much better with his eating/sleeping schedule. He is starting to last a little longer in between his night feedings. He used to wake up every 3 hours, but now it is about every 4.5-5 hours. Kind of strange though...I feel more tired now than when I would wake up every 3 hours! Explain that for me!! He was starting to get used to being held when he would fall asleep, so I'm trying to fix that issue now. I do NOT want a baby who requires rocking and holding to fall asleep! It has led to some hard nights however, when I have to leave him crying for extended periods of time...but Kenneth keeps reminding me it will be for the best.

What else? I am happy to say that Kenneth and I have been able to still take advantage of the outdoors with Danny! We have already taken him on several hikes, and we've been able to go climbing a couple of times. We went last weekend with Stephanie and her boyfriend Justin (thanks for babysitting Alisha!!) and we sent climbing again with Stephanie last night. It was actually amazingly easy to take Danny with when we go climbing! He just slept in his car-seat the whole time, and we fed him a bottle when he was hungry. It was great! Apparently we need to do MORE climbing while he can stay in his car-seat!!

Here are some pictures from our recent hike on Mt. Olympus:
