Terrible Blogger!

I am a terrible blogger - plain and simple! I have NOT died though it may seem like it by my lack of posting...I have been terribly busy, and am getting over being sick. On top of that, I promised pictures from our CA trip...which I still haven't done, therefore I don't feel like I can post until that is complete...I will try to stop being lazy and gather photos and actually post them on here! Here's to being productive! (hopefully...)

Mind Blowing!

So, I was reading an article online that was talking about the worst foods in America...worst breakfast, burger, dessert, etc. So, here was the overall, #1 worst food in America of 2009:

Here was the run down on it:

Baskin Robbins Large Chocolate Oreo Shake

2,600 calories (please remember that average # of calories per person, per day is 2000 - and you can live off of much less than that)

1220 calories from fat (YIKES!)

135 g fat (208% DV)

(59 g saturated fat, 2.5 g trans fats)

333 g total carbs (111% DV)

263 g sugars

1,700 mg sodium (74% DV)

12: The average number of minutes it takes to consume this drink.

240: The number of minutes you'd need to spend on a treadmill, running at a moderate pace, to burn it off.

I thought that the article was just being outrageous, but no...I went to Baskin Robbins website and checked. I can't believe it! I am sure I have had one of these in the past, but I will never have one in the future (unless it is being shared by like 10 people). Call me crazy, but if these nutritional values were posted next to the picture at Baskin Robbins maybe people would make a smarter choice...then again, maybe they wouldn't.

PICTURES TO COME...I PROMISE!

Alright! It's about time I updated this blog!

Christmas was wonderful! Kenneth and I drove out to California along with my sister Alisha and spent lots of time at Pa A's place, with my mom and saw all my cute nieces and nephews! It was relaxing and fun to see family and friends!

Our anniversary was also during the Christmas Break (Dec 29th). Whoo hoo! TWO WHOLE YEARS! Go us! Haha! Anyway, we made plans to go down to San Francisco, and my brother Michael and his wife Kim also made plans to go down there. So, we ended up combining our afternoon plans. We went to Muir woods and saw the amazing Redwoods there, walked across (half) of the Golden Gate Bridge (and they had spitting contests to see how long it took to hit the water...15 seconds!) and then went to the Pier for bread bowls (AMAZING!!) and free chocolate samples at Ghiradellis. Afterwards we dropped Michael and Kim off at their hotel and then we headed to ours in Hayward. The next day we went to the Oakland Temple. I have never been there before and had a good time! Afterwards we had some chinese food (which unfortunately was NASTY!) and Kenneth and I headed for Reno.

We decided that we did NOT want to drive the straight 12 hours or so from San Francisco to Salt Lake, so we stayed in Reno for a night. Let me tell you...it took us like 30 min to find a Taco Bell, you have to PAY to watch any TV there, and there was only lukewarm water for the shower. How lame is that! Anyway, we were excited to leave the next morning and get back to our home!

Well, that is basically the end of that trip. I promise to include pictures ASAP. Look back for fun with sledding!!
