HAPPY BIRTHDAY KENNY!!

Yesterday was Kenneth's 26th birthday. HAPPY BIRTHDAY KENNETH!! I am so happy to be married to Kenneth and to always have my best friend at my side through thick and thin! Love you Kenneth!

So I must say, Kenneth and I take advantage of all the Birthday Clubs you can sign up with. Yesterday we went to Costa Vida for dinner (thanks to a free $10 gift card) and then afterwards we went to Cold Stone (where Kenneth had a free Birthday Club ice cream). I can't even remember the last time I went to Cold Stone - it was AMAZING! I had peanut butter ice cream with Reeses Peanut Butter Cups - DELICIOUS! Makes me grateful that Cold Stone isn't just around the corner otherwise I would go there every day!

Today (hopefully) we will be going to see "Angels and Demons" (with free movie tickets from MY birthday!). It is Kenneth's favorite book and we're expecting to enjoy the movie at LEAST as much as we enjoyed "The DaVinci Code" if not more!

Saturday we are hopefully going to do a hike in the morning. I have been dying to get out and get some exercise outdoors now that the weather is nice. We bought a Wasatch Hiking book recently and are exciting to do some of the easier ones while I still can! Then, Saturday afternoon we're getting a free dinner at Tucanos! Did I mention that I LOVE Birthday Clubs??

Anyway, Happy Birthday Kenny! I always love celebrating birthday's all week long! So much fun!

Yay for Friends!!

So, my best friend Emily, from back home has finally returned from her mission. Em and I have been best friends for almost 10 years now. She is definitely someone I can be completely honest with about my fears, worries, concerns, joys, etc. We know that when we talk (or write when she was on the mission) that we never had to sugar coat anything. If we were frustrated about something, we could just say it, and we never worry about being judged.

As I mentioned, Emily has been serving a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Billings, Montana area for the last 18 months. We wrote COUNTLESS letters while she was gone, and I am SO EXCITED to have her back in Utah!

Yesterday I was having a down day, and Kenneth was out rockclimbing with his buddy from Scotland when I got a call from Emily...just calling to check up on me. It is SO nice being able to call my best friend at any time now! It totally made my day and turned that frown upside down! Thanks for being awesome Em!

Weddings, Weddings, Weddings Galore!!

And so it begins - the rush of weddings for the Spring and Summer! I LOVE weddings! I've got several coming up that I can't wait for!!

Tomorrow, my sis-in-law (and good friend) Chantale is going to the Mt. Timpanogas temple. Friday we have the Groom's dinner and then Saturday is the big day!! She had her bridals completed earlier this week and they look BEAUTIFUL! I'm kind of sad that she looks better in my wedding dress than I did...but only a little. Chantale -you are stunning!! Here is one of my favorites:

Then, the next weekend, May 23rd, my best friend's sister is getting married! My best friend - Emily is coming home from her mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints TOMORROW! She has been serving in the Billings, MT mission for the last 16 months. She and I have been best friends for 10 years and have gone through thick and thin together! I would spend every day at her house growing up and am stoked that her oldest sister Natalie is getting married! Congrats Natalie! I'm not going to lie, I am SO happy for the opportunity to catch up with the entire Nance clan at the wedding! (P.S. Natalie and her man are going on a Mediterranean cruise for their honeymoon! How awesome is that!?!)

2 weeks later on June 2nd we've got the next wedding for my dear friend Ashley. I first met Ashley when I was 13 and moved to Woodland, CA after my dad and Jayne got married. She is SUCH a sweetie, and even though we aren't able to see each other often, I think the WORLD of her! Ashley is a stunning woman - both inside and out, and I cannot wait to see her at her recption. She and her man have had to wait about 2 years to get married - he was in the Air Force Academy, and they are not allowed to get married until after they graduate - and he finally finished this month! I don't know how they did it! That is some SERIOUS love! Congrats Ashley & Matt!!

Last wedding on the calendar is my friend Rachel's wedding! Rachel and I work together and it has been SO fun to hear all about the plans (and change of plans as weddings work out). She and her sweetie (who also works with us) will be getting married June 27th. You can make it Rachel!! Here is one of my favorite pictures of them done by our other co-worker, Megan:

Countdown

I have less than 100 days left!! Whoo hoo! My baby on my countdown ACTUALLY looks like a baby now instead of an alien! Love it!

Happy Mother's Day!!

Happy Mother's Day yesterday!! I'm not going to lie - it is so crazy to think that I will be a mother soon! Kenneth tells me I already am - I've got a baby inside me haven't I?!? The whole thing is so surreal! I can't wait for the joy that will come from being a mother.

I am blessed with many mother's in my life! To my mom, thanks for bringing me into the world and for teaching me the gospel from a young age. I have always known how to tell the difference between right and wrong because of you. To Jayne, my step-mom, thanks for being so supportive of me when you married Papa. I am so grateful that you never tried to force a relationship with me as a 13 year old girl. I love you for that, and through the years have learned so much from you about patience and kindness. To Karen, my UT-Mom (mother-in-law), thank you for accepting me as your own daughter and for providing counsel and advice when needed.

Yesterday in church, we had a wonderful talk on Mother's - and how EVERY woman is a mother. I believe this with all my heart. I know that some people, including many close to me, have not yet had the opportunity to have children of their own, but I know that as women, we have a divine role for helping to teach Heavenly Father's children and to help nurture them. So, thank you to EVERY woman for being a mother! Happy Mother's Day!!

Savior of the World

Last call! My play performance is coming up! Shows start TOMORROW! Yikes! :-) So, really, I don't do anything in it...I'm just a chorus angel, but it IS an amazing show! It has been wonderful to be part of a production where we are constantly learning about the Savior's life and the miraculous events leading up to his birth. Here is the list of performances:

Performances are all at the Bountiful Regional Center -
Thursday, May 7th @7pm
Friday, May 8th @ 7pm
Saturday May 9th @ 1pm
Saturday, May 9th @ 7 pm

Doors open at 6:30 and they will not open the doors any later than about 7:10 - so please get there on time so you don't miss out!

BRC directions: From Salt Lake or south of there

Take I-15 N, and take exit 315 (2600 S. in North Salt Lake). Once you exit the freeway turn right, and you will make another right hand turn IMMEDIATELY (400S). Just keep that steering wheel turned a hard right! You will drive down MAYBE a block and the BRC is the large dome building on the right hand side of the street. (NOTE: you will be able to see the dome from the freeway - it is right next to the Nissan car lot).

Let me know if you have any questions!

I wish I were sleeping right now...I'm SOO tired!
