So, this last weekend was a BLAST! My brother Michael was married on Friday, and because of the occasion my family all came into town! It was so much fun to see all of the parents, siblings, and nieces and nephews...they are SO cute! It was great because everyone was finally able to see our finished house! Also, my dad (Papa) and step-mom (Jayne) stayed at our place which was tons of fun.
Now, as for the wedding...it was WONDERFUL! Michael and Kim were smart...they had the wedding in the afternoon, and just walked down to the temple (where the ceremony took place). It was wonderful and beautiful, and Kim looked AMAZING! Afterwards, we had the family over at our place, were we had a quick lunch, and then Kenneth and I rushed on our way to pick up the bouteniers...I'm a horrible speller...those flower things that the parents pin on their shirts :) Then we went over to help out with the reception which was at the "This is the Place" monument in Salt Lake. The reception was very simple, but SO pretty! They just had white tableclothes with these beautiful flower arrangements which were done by Kim's friend Nicomi - white lilies, red tulips, orangish/yellow roses, pink carnations plus some fun greenery. They also had some amazing catering which was VERY good! It was so fun seeing extended family who I haven't seen for awhile. It was awesome! My family left right after the reception, so come Saturday we had an empty house again...
So, on Saturday, we just had a relaxing day initially...cleaned the house, did some cooking, read my book, Kenneth did some homework, etc. That evening, however, we were hosting our dinner group - a group consisting of 5 couples (plus 6 little ones) mostly of people Kenneth knew from growing up. We get together once a month for dinner and chatting. This month we were up, and unfortunately due to some family events, only 2 couples were able to come; Danny & Heather and their baby girl Brooke (born on easter) and Kendell & Melissa and their baby girl Mercedes (born 2 days after easter!). It was a lot of fun getting together, and chatting...our dinner groups are seriously one of the highlights of my month!
Anyway, the weekend is gone...and work is back - at least it is going well thus far! I can't wait for all the excitement of this week! Kenneth has a final on Wednesday, and then one on Friday, next Monday and next Tuesday...then he will be DONE - well, not really...He is taking 2 summer classes also. One is Numerical Methods (a programing class where you program a computer to do calculus for you) and PDE (partial differential equations). He also will be working ~33 hours a week at his intern at Easton (where he is in product development as an intern for mechanical engineering) AND will continue working on additional house projects. Poor Kenny - he isn't really getting a break at all! Hopefully our trip to Hawaii in August will recharge his batteries! Well, that's about it!
