Projects, Projects, Projects!

So, we have only TWO months before Baby Danny arrives and I am starting to realize just how many projects we still have left to complete! I hope we can get them all done!

Our house has 2 bedrooms, and our 2nd bedroom is currently being used as a storage room. Now that we have a baby on the way, we are attempting to transform it into a nursery. The problem is...we have no place to put all our stuff. So, to remedy this, Kenneth has been building a shed in our backyard for all of our stuff. Unfortunately, here in UT it has been raining almost EVERY day for the last 2 weeks! This has delayed the shed considerably. On Saturday we thought we were going to have nice weather, but we woke up to rain, so we decided we had better start on some indoor projects.

SO, starting on our inside projects, we decided to paint our bedroom. It was this nasty brownish/yellowish cream color and just had to go! We decided we wanted a nice clean white color. So painting away we went! We also replaced all the outlets and light switches to white (instead of the gross tan from the 70s). We are also replacing the bedroom and closet doors. We finished all the painting and have been organizing our things as we've moved them back in.

2nd project for the weekend - re-organizing our kitchen. We currently have most of our food in the spare bedroom on food storage shelves Kenneth built. When we move things to the shed, however, the food storage will be housed on smaller shelves. So, we spent a part of the day re-arranging things in the kitchen so we can fit more food in the shelves, and also so I can have a shelf for bottles/feeding supplies for the baby.

All in all, it was a very productive weekend. Hopefully Kenneth will get 2 days of sunshine in a row so we can finally finish the shed! Otherwise, our baby may just be sleeping in a dresser drawer!

Good luck w/ all your projects! I'd love to see before/after pics when you're all done. And I'm w/ you on wishing the yucky weather would go away & summer would come back...

Funny story... Brooke actually slept in a dresser drawer before! She was 5 months old and we went to Rexburg. I didn't have a playpen, so I just pulled out a drawer and laid a blanket in it! (I left the drawer on the floor and didn't put it back in the dresser!) It works... quite well.

Wow, great work on all those projects. Sorry for the rain. I think that when we came to Utah we brought it with us. It rained almost our entire vacation!! So I hope now it is drying out and you can get that shed done. Yay for do-it-yourself husbands!!!
