New Job & New Addition

The day before the Color Run, when Kenneth met me in San Diego, he let me know that he was contacted by someone from Hill Air Force Base in Clearfield, UT.  We loved our time in SoCal, but knew we eventually would like to be back in Utah to be closer to family members, and closer to some of our favorite outdoor areas.  As such, Kenneth always put out his application whenever an appropriate job opportunity came up.

Kenneth told me that he had been contacted by someone named Eric via text who said that he needed to get his updated work contacts.  He checked his email and Eric said he got Kenneth's job application and wanted to talk to some references first.  Kenneth sent the references and within a few hours, got a call from Eric.  Eric said that Kenneth's current boss gave Kenneth one of the best recommendations he had ever heard.  He basically told Kenneth that he would be given the job, but had to wait officially until he heard back from the other reference. Within about another hour, Eric called Kenneth again, and said that his old boss again gave a stellar recommendation.  He basically congratulated Kenneth and said that he was giving him the job, and that the official offer would be presented in about a weeks time.

GO KENNETH!  Awesome news right?!?  We were so excited!  His job is officially as an aerospace engineer for the Air Force.  We had about a month between when he got his official offer and when we needed to be out in Utah.  We were so excited about the opportunity to be closer to family, but felt dread at leaving our good friends behind in CA.

I cannot even express how grateful we were to be able to live in Southern California.  We met the greatest people there, both for us personally and for our kids.  We had a wonderful ward and it was the first time since being married that we felt "at home".  We also got to explore so many new places together.  We really do miss it there and can't wait to travel back there for vacations often.

Also, in case you missed it in previous posts - I am also pregnant!  When we got the job offer I was about 13-14 weeks pregnant.  We moved when I was just about 20 weeks pregnant.  It was certainly a surprise when we showed up at his parent's house in mid-December having not told them that I was pregnant yet!

Anyway, there have been BIG changes in our lives in the last 5 months...hence the lack of blog posts!  Got to get back to updating!
